Personal best

volunteers at the 2010 London Marathon

The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will become a valuable training opportunity for over 200 homeless adults thanks to the Personal Best project. To find out the latest news and details of upcoming courses, click here.

Delivered in partnership with charity St Mungo’s, the project will provide training in:

  • equality and diversity,
  • conflict resolution,
  • team and interpersonal skills,
  • emergency and basic fire awareness,
  • public safety awareness,
  • effective customer relations
  • and becoming a volunteer.
All participants who successfully complete the programme will be guaranteed an interview as a 2012 games-time volunteer. Towards the end of their course, they will also be supported to move onto further training, volunteering and work placements.

The project aims to train 240 homeless adults over a two-year period.
