Previous projects
Inside Knowledge / MOVE
The Inside Knowledge/MOVE project, which helped adults move from offending and homelessness into employment, has now completed it's run of the City & Guilds Level 2 Qualification - Supporting the Development Needs of Homeless & Vulnerable People. Thank you to all partners and students who made the project such a success and we wish all our former students the best of luck for the future.
On the project, classroom sessions were run in tandem with a work placement. Students were given a high level of support to work towards a vocational qualification (City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Supporting the Development Needs of Homeless and Vulnerable People). They attended 16 classroom sessions and completed an extended work placement to gain the full qualification. Our job broker was also on hand to place students at a suitable and relevant organisation. Additional help was offered with finding a job and preparing for interviews, as well as provision for travel costs and refreshments.
Past project successes
Congratulations go to one former student, Andrew Campbell, who won the Individual Outstanding Adult Award for the London Region at the Adult Learners' Awards in May 2006.
Congratulations also go to all students who sat the exam component of the course - the students have had a 100% success rate to date.
The project also had two successful and well attended dissemination events, with special guest speaker Baroness Andrews at December 2006 event and A.John Bird from the Big Issue speaking at the event in April 2006, both events highlighted the achievements of students and the course was featured in the Big Issue magazine as a result.
