Executive team

The executive team is responsible for running and managing all aspects of the work of City Lit, led by the Principal. They work to ensure a high quality curriculum and excellent customer service, and implement the strategic and policy decisions of the board of governors.
 
Peter Davies CB CBE 
Principal and Chief Executive
 
Peter Davies took over as Principal and Chief Executive of City Lit in October 2004, following a 35 year career in the Royal Navy. A submarine engineer officer by background, during his last three years in the Royal Navy, as a Rear Admiral, he was responsible for Naval recruiting, education and training. He managed the completion and move to City Lit’s brand new building in Covent Garden, which has proven to be a great success.
 
Peter is a member of the Association of Colleges, the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education policy committee and the Access Recognition and Licensing Committee. Married with two grown up children, Peter is a keen swimmer and yacht sailor. 
 
My course choice would be: singing, to see if I am really as tone deaf as everyone tells me I am. 
 
 
Nick Moore 
Deputy Principal, Programme Development and Quality
 
Nick has been Vice Principal at City Lit since 2000, where he is responsible for ensuring the quality of the programme. He has worked in adult education for 25 years, holding senior posts in the London Borough of Croydon. Nick is also Chair of Governors of one of the UK's leading comprehensive schools.
 
My course choice would be: beginner's Greek
 
Joe Manifold 
Vice Principal Resources and Business Development
 
Joe joined City Lit in July 2006. Following a commercial career in a wide range of disciplines, including HR, finance, audit, manufacturing and logistics, Joe helped establish Bsix Sixth Form College Brooke House in 2002, as Vice Principal.
 
My course choice would be: understanding Eastern philosophy
 
Liora Ives 
Director of Marketing and Communications
 
Liora joined City Lit in 1999, having worked in marketing and PR in the education, voluntary and private sectors. Liora is a member of the Institute of Direct Marketing.
 
My course choice would be: mosaics 
  
Brian Watts 
Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development
 
Brian has led human resources, staff development and payroll since 1999; prior to this he worked in human resources in the hotel industry. Brian is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.

My course choice would be: Dutch level 2
