What is the course about?
Microsoft Access is a powerful tool with which you can design and develop databases. This introductory course will look at the basic features and functionality of Access, and help you to master the basics of creating databases.
What level is the course?
Although this is a course for beginners, you should have a basic knowledge of computers and understand the principles of file management.
What will the course cover? (contents, themes, projects)
- Planning and designing a database system
- Creating database objects (tables, forms, queries and reports)
- Creating fields in a table
- Entering data in a table
- Viewing records and searching for specific records
- Using queries to search for and manipulate specific data
- Calculations in Queries, Forms and Reports
- Headers and footers
- Designing and developing reports to extract data
- Creating multiple tables
- Understanding relationships.
How will I be taught?
Each student has their own computer.
Presentations will be made using computers, whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes.
Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts.
