What is the course about?
An introduction to the basics of image manipulation using Photoshop. Experiment with drawn and photographic images – combine them, introduce or change colour, create montages, use type and incorporate special effects. Learn about the immense possibilities of digital imaging. Through practical exercises, you will gain experience in the techniques now available to fine artists and graphics designer.
What level is the course?
No previous experience of Photoshop is required. The course is also suitable for students who have a little experience of using a computer for image manipulation.
What will the course cover? (contents, themes, projects)
- The basic functions of Photoshop
- Scanning, manipulating and printing an image
- Basic computer skills relating to image manipulation
- Basic technical knowledge of a digital image
- A small project of your own
- Recognise and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using a computer within the context of making art.
How will I be taught?
A variety of teaching methods will be used including demonstrations, exercises and discussions (individual and group).
