What is the course about?
An introduction to one of the fastest growing ways to support individuals you manage or work with. You will explore the underpinnings of this ‘new’ profession and learn different ways to encourage others to think and learn for themselves.
What level is the course?
Anyone who has responsibility for getting the best out of others, has an interest in people, finds working with highly motivated as well as de-motivated staff a challenge and who wants to develop their interpersonal skills.
What will the course cover? (contents, themes, projects)
- Definitions of coaching and its importance as a management tool
- Developing active listening and questioning skills
- The GROW model of coaching (Goal – Reality – Options – Will)
- Identifying a personal coaching style
- Coaching practice session.
How will I be taught?
A variety of different training methods will be used to accommodate all learning styles: whole class teaching, pair group work, practical exercises, demonstrations, discussions, presenting information, question and answer, role-play.
