What is the course about?
Learn about a range of disabilities and develop techniques to improve your note-taking to support disabled students in education and work. Accredited by the Open College Network London Region (OCNLR).
What level is the course?
Ideal for anyone with good English skills and an interest in supporting people with disabilities. It would suit people already employed in the field of disability support (e.g. Learning Support Assistants and Communication Support Workers) and anyone with an interest in supporting disabled people in education and employment.

- Technical note-taking skills
- Role of a note-taker
- Adapting your notes to meet different needs
- Disability Discrimination Act
- Note-taking practice
- How to take notes in different styles
- Context of note-taking in education
- Handwriting practice.
Trainees who successfully complete the portfolio will receive the London Open College Network Level 3 Certificate.
