Top 10 tips for time management
Our management skills tutor, Joanna Burke gives her top 10 tips for time management below:
- Identify your time stealers (who manages your time – you or others?)
- Identify the most productive time in your day
- Be clear about the objectives you want to achieve: set yourself realistic goals and stick to them
- Decide which are the most important activities for the achievement of these objectives
- Challenge your self-limiting beliefs
- Learn how to say ‘no’
- Talk to others about any concerns you have about coping with work
- Build in ‘me’ time (for thinking, planning and developing yourself)
- Build in regular breaks
- Keep things in perspective: “What’s the worst that can happen if it doesn’t get done?”
