Introducing you to the key principles of solution focussed communication (SFC). You will examine how this approach may be applied in your work with individuals and discover how these tools can have a transformative effect.
The origins of SFC and theoretical influences
Different questioning techniques and use of language
Active listening and problem solving
When to use and when not to use SFC.
Outline the key principles of SFC
Identify how SFC can be applied in your work
Explain the terminology of SFC
Communicate apprpriately using SFC techniques.
This course is non-accredited. You should be able to follow verbal or written instructions. You will be expected to take part in group discussions, make significant contributions and help to move discussions forward. You will have to demonstrate that you are able to use the techniques in a classroom environment.
You will be expected to participate in group discussion, small groupwork and role play. You will be provided with a list of recommended texts for further reading that will allow you to continue your learning.
