This course is aimed at learners who have some computer experience but lack confidence. This course will prepare you for entry on to ECDL Level 1: essentials.
User fundamentals.
Inserting text, numbers and images into a Word document.
Designing and inserting a table in Word.
Entering information into a spreadsheet.
Using functions and formulas to carry out simple calculations.
Presenting this information in different ways, eg pie charts, bar charts and graphs.
Saving and organising your documents.
Introduction to email - Outlook.
Introduction to the internet.
Create short documents in Word.
Save a document to hard disk or USB.
Use editing techniques.
Create a simple spreadsheet - eg a budget.
Organise and find your work easily.
Send and receive emails.
Send an attachment with email.
Search the web for specific information.
This course is for learners who wish to learn to create and format documents in Word; to create a simple spreadsheet in Excel and to learn to organise and manage documents; to use Email and the Internet. You should be able to understand and follow spoken instructions; read, understand and follow written instructions and handouts.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
