The course has been designed for people who want to learn computerised accounting at intermediate level or transfer their manual bookkeeping skills at intermediate level onto a computerised system.
You will learn the semi-advanced operations of the popular computerised accounts package Sage Line 50. The operations cover in-depth report production of Sales, Purchase and Nominal Ledger, invoice production process, journal correction process for wrong entered data, wages data entry, transfer of money, and proper method of cheques cancellation.
Add new accounts to sales/purchase ledgers with opening balances.
Create accounts in nominal ledger and bank section based on the given information.
Transfer money from Bank to Cash account.
Produce Sales Invoice and post it to the system.
Use a journal to enter wages data.
Use a journal to correct sales and purchase invoice.
Cancel customer cheques.
Cancel cheques sent to suppliers.
Print out sales and purchase in-depth reports about their activities.
Print out remittance advice report.
Print out customer statements.
Print out produced sale invoices.
Print out the reports needed for level 1.
The course is level 2 and you need the knowledge of computerised account course at level 1. Familiarity with a computer keyboard, basic numeracy skills and intermediate-level English are also recommended.
Each student has their own computer.
Presentations will be made using computers, interactive whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes.
Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts. Students are asked to finished uncompleted given worksheets outside the class.
