An introduction to the exciting area of multimedia production, including sound, pictures and video, compression, integration, multimedia authoring, and delivery of multimedia.
Introduction to the Flash environment.
Introduction to multimedia files and formats.
Introduction to the main features of Photoshop and Illustrator.
Introduction to how to animate your drawings, text and pictures
Introduction to importing multimedia components into Flash (audio, video, text and photographic and graphic files).
Use the basic drawing and animation functions of Flash.
Create buttons and simple navigation in Flash.
Create and manage simple multimedia projects using Flash.
Use Photoshop and Illustrator to prepare graphical elements for multimedia projects.
Transfer assets between Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Use Adobe Video Encoder and understand what Flash video is.
Imprt video and audio files to Flash
Combine simple buttons, text, graphics, audios and videos into a simple Flash multimedia project.
Integrate multimedia projects onto Webpages using Dreamweaver.
No previous knowledge of multimedia is required but you will need experience using an Apple Mac. You should also be able to follow spoken instructions, read written instructions and information, and discuss work with your tutor.
Each student has their own computer.
Presentations will be made using computers, whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes.
Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
