It builds on the Excel Beginners course and introduces the more advanced features of the application.

Naming data ranges.
Sort and filter data using specified criteria
Analyse data using pivot tables
Set up best/worst case scenarios
Do calculations using functions and values from different worksheets/workbooks
Automate tasks using macros
Work with large and more complicated worksheets with confidence.
This is an advanced course and you should have completed the Excel for beginners course or have working knowledge or experience of using Excel.
You should also be able to follow spoken and written instructions and be comfortable carrying out mathematical calculations.
Each student has their own computer.
Presentations will be made using computers, whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes.
Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
