The course builds on the Excel Advanced course. We will tackle a real-life spreadsheet project starting from its design to end-user requirements. You will learn how the project is broken down into sub-tasks or modules, and automate most of the task to meet the needs of the end-user.
Validation and cell protection.
Links between sheets.
Setting up the multipliers.
Adding option buttons.
Adding combo boxes.
Adding check box.
Adding spinners.
Macros and macro buttons.
Automating (using various macros).
Adding front end for end user.
Introduction to simple VB editor.
Design a professional spreadsheet to meet the need of an end user.
Understand the use of lookup in a professional worksheet.
Understand the use of various tools.
Create buttons.
Use macros to automate the process.
You should have completed the Excel Advanced course or have sound advanced knowledge of Excel. If you have not done Excel Advanced please see the course outline to see that you are familiar with what was covered.
You should also be able to follow spoken and written instructions and be comfortable carrying out mathematical calculations.
Each student has their own computer.
Presentations will be made using computers, whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes.
Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
