What is the course about?

You will develop your skills and use some of the powerful advanced features of Word Microsoft Office 2007.

Advanced Mail merge: Query, Labels, Envelopes
Images/Drawing, Word Art, Watermarks.

By the end of this course you should be able to:

Construct complex office forms.
Automate documents by using fields, macros and templates.
Deal with styles and page numbering in a document divided into sections.
Add a table of contents to a multipage document.
Use mail merge to create personalized letters, labels and envelopes.
Create a simple logo image using the drawing options.
Enhance a document by adding a word art image.
Track, accept or reject changes in the document and add comments.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

You should have completed a Word beginners course (not necessarily on Word 2003 or XP) or have equivalent knowledge. If you have not completed a Word beginners course please refer to the course outline for an overview of the features covered. You should be able to follow spoken instructions, read written instructions and information, and discuss work with your tutor.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Each student has their own computer.
Presentations will be made using computers, interactive whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes.
Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts.

Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

No.

What feedback will I get?

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.

How will I be able to give my views on the course?

Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
