You will develop your skills in MS Word 2007, a powerful and easy to use word processing application.
Introduction to basic word processing concepts
Exploring Ms Word 2007 interface
Creating, saving and opening documents.
Editing text - using basic editing methods
Moving and copying blocks of text
Formatting text: changing font, style, font size, font colour, etc
Aligning and indenting text - creating various types of paragraphs
Preview and Print document.
Create one page documents (letters, memos, and leaflets)
Save a document to hard disk or USB memory stick
Make changes to an existing document using a variety of editing techniques
Apply text formatting to a document
Change the appearance of a document by applying various paragraph formats and effects
Use print preview to check the document layout
Print a document using the following options: entire document, specific pages, number of copies.
Although this is a course for beginners to Word, you should be able to use a keyboard and mouse and be familiar with the Windows working environment. You should also be able to follow spoken instructions, read written instructions and information, and discuss work with your tutor.
Each student has their own computer.
Presentations will be made using computers, interactive whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes.
Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts.
