JavaScript is a programming language that provides a powerful tool for rapidly developing highly interactive, dynamic web sites. This course provides in-depth, hands-on experience writing client-side JavaScript, integrating it into your web pages.
Writing and debugging client-side JavaScript that works across multiple browsers.
Controlling event handlers, statements, window objects and calls to Javascript functions.
Creating interactivity forms that capture and validate user input.
Creating dynamic web pages.
Write and debug JavaScript functions.
Create interactive and self validating forms.
Build JavaScript widgets.
Embed Flash and video.
Use cookies to personalise pages.
Use JavaScript libraries.
You will be expected to have completed the HTML for beginners course or have basic programming knowledge. If you have not done HTML for beginners, please check the course outline to see that you are familiar with what was covered. It is also recommended that you cover HTML forms.
You should also be able to follow spoken and written instructions and add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Each student has their own computer.
Presentations will be made using computers, whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes.
Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts.
