This course follows on from the very popular HTML for beginners course, and in it you will learn all the skills necessary to put a complete website together.
Planning the design and structure of your website.
Creating pages so they have a similar look and feel using templates.
Adding sound and video to webpages.
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
Controlling page layout with CSS
Creating forms.
Uploading pages to a server using FTP.
The concept of processing forms with server side scripts.
Creating an example site.
Give your pages a similar look and feel.
Add sound and video to webpages.
Use a range of style settings for formatting.
Set formatting at different levels using cascading styles.
Set positioning and layout with CSS.
Upload and update your online site using FTP.
Understand the difference between client side and server side scripts.
You will be expected to have completed the HTML for beginners course or have equivalent knowledge. If you have not done the HTML for beginners course, please check the course outline to see that you are familiar with what was covered. You will also need good basic computing and file management knowledge.
You should also be able to follow spoken and written instructions and add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Each student has their own computer.
Presentations will be made using computers, whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes.
Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
