Access to Work

Do you need someone for communication support at work?

Maybe to support you using the phone, writing emails, take notes in meetings, allow you access to meetings using a laptop, or communicating with hearing people.

To support you at work, we have a dedicated team of:
  • Sign language communicators
  • Manual notetakers
  • Electronic notetakers
  • Support tutors to teach work-specific English
Interpreters are provided by SignHere. For details about interpreter support, please email signhere@citylit.ac.uk.

As well as supporting you we can offer:
  • Support in transition
  • Advice on working with hearing colleagues
  • Deaf Awareness training for your colleagues
This support is usually paid for by Access to Work; if you are waiting for an Access to Work assessment, we can talk to your employer about arranging your support.
