Our service
We offer:
Professional training
- courses for deaf and hearing persons wishing to gain sign language or professional qualifications for working with deaf or deafened people
- training for students wanting to become technical support workers, lipreading tutors, lipspeakers, and notetakers for deaf and disabled people
- and lipreading classes for people with acquired deafness.
Continuing education for deaf people
We offer basic education courses for deaf adults in English, numeracy, IT and communication skills. Our Continuing Education Service offers a variety of classes for deaf people and the option to work towards a range of qualifications.
Student services
We have an officer for deaf students who can advise on welfare matters.
Support for students in further and higher education
The Deaf and Disabled Support Service provides communication, notetaking and tutorial support for D/deaf, hard-of-hearing and disabled students in Colleges and Universities around London.

If you want to apply for support on your course, please get in touch at least two weeks before the start of your course so that we can check whether support is available. You will need to come for an interview. You can see a support tutor at the Deaf Education Advice and Information sessions, 2-3pm every Wednesday during term time.
