Course outline

What is the course about?

This workshop is a great chance to practise your presentation skills with others on a range of topics in preparation for your unit 202 exam.

What topics will we cover?

You will improve your level 2 BSL presentation skills by structured practice relating to various topics.

By the end of this course you should be able to:

Show signing skills in BSL structure at Level 2 by being able to:
- show a wide range of vocabulary
- use correct and clear hand shapes
- use suitable facial expressions with signs
- make use of your improved presentation skills.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is designed for those who are currently enrolled on a level 2 BSL course.
You will need to have basic literacy as you will be asked to read topics and instruction.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

- Demonstration
- Pair/group work
- Questions and answers
- Presentation.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Materials and equipment provided by the City Lit. DVDs and books are available from the City Lit library.
'BSL for Dummies' books can be purchased at a special price, subject to availability.

Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

No.

What feedback will I get?

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.

How will I be able to give my views on the course?

Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
