This is an individual 1 to 1 based course, suitable for you if you are already fluent in BSL at level 3 or level 6. It is an ideal route if you work with Deaf people, as you must be able to collect your own evidence externally for your portfolio. You will be asked to attend a series of 5 sessions, which last for 2 hours each. The duration of the course is flexible, as you will negotiate your dates and times of sessions with the assessor.

- Understanding of NVQ procedures and requirements, learn all about the portfolio and what evidence is required.
- Ability to build a portfolio of written and video evidence, description of the NVQ terminology and how to meet
the criteria outlined in the qualification standards.

- Demonstrate appropriate level of understanding, usage and skill in BSL to complete the portfolio for level 3 NVQ
certificate in BSL or level 6 NVQ certificate in BSL.
- Demonstrate BSL skills to meet Signature's assessment criteria
- Complete portfolio of evidences.
- This is designed for candidates who have been recommended to start collecting evidence for Signature's level 3
NVQ certificate in BSL. An assessment and interview ill be required.
- You will be required to have basic literacy as you will be asked to write your candidate profile and self-evaluations
- You will also be expected to be able to read and understand the unit instructions, specifications and assessment
criteria

- Three 1:1 tutorials are also included, to go through each piece of evidence in the candidate's portfolios.
The assessor will record your progress and provide feedback on each clip during these tutorials.
- Your progress will be regularly assessed and monitored by your assessor and internal verifier
- For each piece of evidence you will write a self-assessment of your own progress and achievement against the
assessment criteria.
Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
