During this course you will develop the following:
- Understanding of NVQ procedures and requirements, learning all about the portfolio and what evidence is required.
- Ability to build a portfolio of written and video evidence, description of the NVQ terminology and how to meet the criteria outlined in the qualification standards.
Following this candidates will then be required to attend 6 all-day sessions over 2 months to collect evidence and for tutorials with their assessors to get feedback and their support for their clips.
This course will provide the knowledge and skills you need to begin collecting evidence for your level 6 NVQ certificate portfolio.

- Demonstrate appropriate level of understanding, usage and skill in BSL to complete the portfolio for Level 6 NVQ
certificate in BSL
- Demonstrate BSL skills to meet signature's assessment criteria
- Complete portfolio of evidence.
- This is designed for candidates who have been recommended to start collecting evidence for Signature's
Level 6 NVQ certificate in BSL. An assessment and interview will be required
- You will be required to have basic literacy as you will be asked to write your candidate profile and self-evaluations.
- You will also be expected to be able to read and understand the unit instructions, specifications and assessment
criteria
- An interview will be required for assess your signing and suitability for the course.

- Signature registration and assessment are included in the course fees.
Yes. Before you can enrol on this course, you need to have an advisory interview with the relevant department. Without this the enrolment team will be unable to process your enrolment. You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. - Three 1 : 1 tutorials outside course hours are also included, to go through each piece of evidence in your portfolio's. The assessor will record your progress and provide feedback on each clip during these tutorials.
- Your progress will be regularly assessed and monitored by your assessor and internal verifier.
- For each piece of evidence you will write a self-evaluation of you own progress and achievement against the
assessment criteria.
Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.

If you successfully complete your portfolio, you can go on to an Interpreters Training Course.
