This class is about building your confidence in using the internet. It is for adult deaf students who have a basic knowledge of IT and want to obtain a credit in using the internet.
Recognise and use appropriate sources of information (ICT and other forms) for a purpose.
Access web sites using given web addresses.
Follow hyperlinks to find information.
Select and use information.
Achieve an OCN Entry Level 3 certificate in using the internet
Use the internet to be able to:

The course leads to an entry level 3 certificate in using the internet. You will need to have a basic knowledge of computers to enrol on the course.
You will already be able to understand simple instructions in English and you also need to have an Entry Level 1 literacy certificate, or skills at this level.
You will need to attend an Advice, Information and Assessment Session before enrolling.
Most work is practical. Teaching is carried out in small groups.
Classes are taught in sign, spoken and written English.
Bring a USB memory stick, folder and plastic wallets.
Yes. Before you can enrol on this course, you need to have an advisory interview with the relevant department. Without this the enrolment team will be unable to process your enrolment. Please contact the department to arrange your interview, or to find out about drop-in sessions.
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
