Using the singing voice in a theatrical context. Presenting a song and audition technique. You will be required to sing simple songs unaccompanied, and there will be an informal performance at the end of the term.

For professionals in theatre with some experience in singing.
In order to get the most from the course you will be able to:
• Speak English fluently and clearly and make sense of song texts.
• Listen to and accept constructive feedback from the tutor.
• Use numbers to recognise rhythm.
Most of the time in masterclass format; some of the time class teaching. Students choose their own material. You will be asked to sing simple songs unaccompanied and there will be a little group singing.
Sheet music and recordings. Please bring the sheet music for a selection of songs for the first class if you have it.
Yes. Before you can enrol on this course, you need to have an advisory interview with the relevant department. Without this the enrolment team will be unable to process your enrolment. Please contact the department to arrange your interview, or to find out about drop-in sessions.
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
