Classes are structured with an initial warm up of footwork, followed by work on Salsa patterns in couples and finished off by putting them together in dance floor combinations.
The origins of Salsa and its historical and cultural context. The basic and most popular Salsa styles – Cross body lead style also known as LA style. Basic partnering technique – lead / following technique as well as learning about dancing posture, elegance and sensuality in Salsa.

Perform a short and basic Salsa combination with or without partner

Aimed at beginners or those with some basic Salsa dance training
In order to get the most from the course you will be able to:
• Follow spoken instructions.
• Use numbers to recognise rhythms within dance.
• Work within groups and pairs safely.
You will be taught as a group, in pairs and individually.
Ladies: soft soled dance shoes or Latin dance shoes. NO stilettos, sandals, platforms or trainers. Men
Men: Leather-soled shoes with a slight heel - NO trainers.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
