This is a one-day course, designed to be fun and enjoyable, covering all aspects of musical theatre. You will work with piano accompaniment in singing and dance, incorporating acting, and will demonstrate your skills as solo and ensemble performers.
All disciplines of musical theatre - singing, dancing and acting. The day will progress from vocal and physical warm ups to a choreographed and staged musical number.
Understand the demands of a musical theatre performer.
Demonstrate a greater knowledge of the techniques required in each of the disciplines.
Demonstrate through performance a staged musical number.
Show gained greater confidence and enjoyment.
For those with some ability in acting, dance or singing who wish to combine their skills, further their abilities and gain further insight into musical theatre work.
You will be required to learn a song as part of the day’s activities.
In order to get the most from the course you will be able to:
• Follow spoken instructions
• Use numbers to recognise rhythms within dance.
• Work within groups and pairs safely.
Practical work in groups, pairs and singularly.
Students are expected to wear appropriate clothing, no jeans or combat trousers etc. and please wear jazz shoes or trainers.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
