This is an introductory course over four days, exploring the creative possibilities to be found in releasing the body /self’s potential through exercise and improvisation.
Physical awareness, in relation to the self, the space and the ensemble. Individual and group dynamics.
Physical co-ordination (spontaneity and precision).
Impulsiveness.
Physical play and the creation of repeatable physical action work.
Have a sense of the possibilities that exist for creating performance from the body.
Develop your own self-awareness through physical work.
Open expressive potential found in the body’s impulses. Improve ability to respond to colleagues in creative work.
Expand sources for creative work.
A basic level of physical fitness is advisable. It would be inappropriate for those with serious joint or muscular injuries, heart problems or respiratory conditions.
In order to get the most from the course you will be able to:
Listen and respond to instructions and feedback.
Take part in class discussions.
Work within groups and pairs safely.
The work will be practical not theoretical. You will be led by the teacher either through side coaching or from within the exercise.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
