How to choose and perform good audition pieces from Shakespeare.
The importance of a trained voice in Shakespeare. Finding good and unusual material. Learning about the language, poetry and iambic pentameter.
- Confidently perform one or more audition pieces from Shakespeare
- Appreciate the use of the voice
- Understand language and poetry
- Understand that everything you need to know is in the text itself.
Everyone welcome. Especially useful for actors auditioning for drama schools or for professional work.
You will be taught by doing. The tutor will help you with your chosen pieces and try to open up all possibilities.
Please bring any Shakespeare audition pieces you have, are working on or would like to explore. If auditioning is new to you the tutor will supply material. If you have a copy of The Complete Works of Shakespeare, please bring it with you.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
