An intensive one-day course for actors dealing with the do's and don’t's used in casting films, television and commercials. We will cover the Polaroid, the video interview and the performance at sight.
- the misconceptions about, and differences between, film, television and commercial castings.
- the roles of casting director, director etc.
- the techniques and etiquette of the casting process.
Have a clearer understanding of the differences and similarities involved when auditioning for commercial, television or film, and how to deal with them.
Quickly and accurately analyse the script.
Perform with increased confidence by using a series of sight reading and movement techniques that let you fully involve with the audition process.
Understand the problems and needs of directors or casting directors, in order to know what not to do, and thus gain their confidence.
Be fully prepared prior to meeting the director/casting director.
Have more confidence in your ability to perform and present yourself well.
You should have acting experience and be seriously intending to enter the profession.
In order to get the most from the course you will be able to:

• Give and receive constructive feedback.
• Take notes.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. There will be group and individual feedback.
