Using screen-acting exercises, scenes from films and TV dramas and guided by an experienced professional, you will learn how to prepare effectively for the shoot, gain practical experience on camera, start to bring a greater degree of truth to your performance and most importantly develop an ability for self-reflexive assessment.
Application of a screen-acting technique.
How a film set and camera crew works and the actor’s role as part of the team.
Telling the story on camera.
How to prepare effectively for auditions and a shoot.
Prepare a script and develop a character with a greater degree of truthfulness.
Have an appreciation of what the camera can do and the role of the actor on set.
Be able to successfully break down a script.
Make justified and fulfilled choices about your character in a scene.
Start to bring a greater degree of truthfulness to your performance.
You must have successfully completed Acting for Camera: Stage 1, plus Introduction to Stanislavski or an equivalent body of work, which demonstrates your commitment to and familiarity with a naturalistic acting process.

Yes. Before you can enrol on this course, you need to have an advisory interview with the relevant department. Without this the enrolment team will be unable to process your enrolment. Please contact the department to arrange your interview, or to find out about drop-in sessions.
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
