This course provides far, far more than the accurate execution of a number of steps, and the robotic execution of a few dances. Because the tutor explains the cultural and historical background of Flamenco and how its rich and diverse dances came into being, it opens the door to dancing with passion, and style. You will have learnt a great deal - about dance, about the Flamenco gypsy culture - and about yourself.

This is a terrific class. I started to learn Flamenco a couple of years ago, at City Lit, when looking for a new type of dance I hadn't tried before. I'm hooked! The footwork can be tricky to get the hang of at first and the combinations of arms and feet feel odd at first but the support and encouragement make all the difference and once the pieces start to come together it's a wonderfully expressive and exuberant dance to learn. It's also good for posture, fitness, co-ordination, confidence - and huge fun. Give it a try and feel the gypsy spirit!
