This course is absolutely liberating, a kind of acting tonic. Having spent increasing time analysing characters and scripts and getting into the head too much, in TW2 you learn how to approach a character from the outside, by working on facial detail, body postures, tempos, rhythms, speech patterns, embracing the grotesque and caricature. And it works! You find yourself released from the bondage of the intellect, which can be so deadly to actors. Your character embodiments become visceral, instinctive. This is an aspect of physical theatre, though this term is becoming too specific nowadays and could mislead expectations. In fact, the tutor has a unique character and approach that is hard to put into words. He leads by (inspiring) example, tolerates no bs, and encourages everyone to go that extra mile and not fear making a fool of themselves, which they will do! A variety of scripts, from the unorthodox to the classic, is used. By the end of the course, the actor has acquired brand new confidence to work with any character. Beyond all that, this course is tons of fun too! If you are serious about your acting, this is an absolute must!
