I really enjoyed my time at City Lit, both Foundation and Access. I learnt an enormous amount at the Access year. It was hard work both in class and outside so be prepared but it will be ALL worth it. It’s an excellent course with excellent tutors and at least in my case an excellent group. Most importantly, I can safely say that I am free of the safe-doubt and lack of confidence that hindered me for years. I now trust my instinct and my hard work which will of course continue. And this is the biggest gift (of many) this year has given me.

I will always remember it fondly and use what I’ve learnt here in future. I will continue studying and performing. Who knows what that will take me but I will be sure to recommend City Lit.

Thank you very much, and through you to all my tutors, for all your teaching and inspiration.

Over-all a very extensive course offering experience and training through a broad programme of acting training.

The teachers and tutors are a valuable source of insight, knowledge, encouragement, support and fun, even at times when you're pushed out of your comfort zone.

The training and the course is best supplemented by reading specialist literature and text books as well as practicing and rehearsing outside of the class room, which is the most challenging part of the course. I worked full-time and so did many others in my course and the lack of time, conflicting priorities and other personal commitments would prove to be big hurdles in getting the most out of this training.

To succeed it's not only necessary for the student to be focused and committed, the group as whole needs to be as focused and committed to each other to reap the rewards of the year's experience and grow into a promising performer.

Trying to offer lots in a limited amount of time - perhaps too much. Good but could be improved upon. Wouldhave preferred fewer modules, more depth, less coursework and for class size and gender mix to inform the work and production choices or you end up with underused females in the productions. Smaller class sizes would have avoided this problem and improved the student experience.

A wide range of subjects covered including very good tips on how to get work in the theatre and performance areas after completion. The end of year show about to happen this week - I've learned so much about putting on and taking part in a major production. The Director is terrific. Some niggles re the emphasis on attendance and punctuality which is not followed through in any way. Thetare badly needs air conditioning and rehearsal space is always in short supply.

From being on the Access, I have learnt so much about the subject I have chosen and studied about. It has been a total journey from the start to the end and being with like-minded people makes the journey alot more easier in ways that you might not know and you get to learn about your capabilities in a safe enviroment.
