I really loved this course. I had already done the stage 1, and I found I learnt so much in that course. I needed to as I hadn't taken my G.C.S.E's. We covered a bit of everything in this course, and that set me up really well for the creative studies access course I am currently on. This course gave me the confidence to be where I am today - looking to go to university. There was a trip away to a writing retreat which is a time I will never forget. From day one I knew I was on the right course because the teacher seemed bursting with passion. She wanted us to learn and be the best we could be. Once you have this you've half the battle won, as all you've gotta do is keep your side of the street clean by turning up regularly with a desire to learn and you'll go far. If want to write, but haven't got the tools yet, I would recommend this course highly.

What was interesting about this course was its breadth and diversity. It combined facilities such as the online Visual Thesaurus, BBC Skillswise programmes and other interactive internet media and classic book formats. There was also a delightful freebie with the Isle of Wight workshop set in a quirky old manor house in a pert of the island wrapped in a 1950's timewarp.

Another good feature was the publication of students work in the college Writers Block magazine. The creative writing aspect appealed to me as it provided steerage to see what I could conjure and express in an original manner. It was the prologue for me in futhering my interests in writing and poetry.

Next year, I will have poetry published in an anthology and also online. This is all due for enrolling on the course at City Lit.
