Korean Hand Massage (KHM) was developed by Wan-Hye Park in 2002 from Korean Hand Therapy (KHT) developed by Dr. Tae-Woo Yoo, a Korean Chinese medical doctor in 1971. KHM stimulates the body correspondence points and the 401 acu-points using simple techniques. It is designed to benefit general health and well-being.
An introduction KHM is to learn the governing three areas, some basic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles, and some basic hand massage techniques which stimulate body correspondence points on the hand to rebalance and regulate the whole body or to treat some minor health problems.
- Explain KHT theory with Yin & Yang and 5 elements principles
- Recognise KHM instruments
- Identify body correspondence points on the hands
- Practise stimulating pressure points to treat minor symptoms
- practise Korean Hand Massage basic techniques on self, friends and family.
Introductory level - no previous knowledge required. You are required to read and write short sentences, follow verbal instructions and extract information from handouts.
