The course is about learning how to work with and develop the material from the Pilates matwork OCR level 2 or level 3 courses or an equivalent qualification such as CYQ..
- Using a range of small equipment to enhance, develop and personalise your Pilates teaching
- Linking of Pilates movements.
- Identify ways in which to use a range of small equipment in a Pilates warmup
- Identify ways in which to use the mini ball to modify or develop at least 6 Pilates movements
- Identify ways in which to use Gym balls to modify or develop at least 4 Pilates movements
- Identify ways in which to use Dynabands to modify or develop at least 4 Pilates movements
- Identify ways in which to use toning balls to modify or develop at least 4 Pilates movements
- Identify ways in which to use a foam roller to modify or develop at least 4 Pilates movements
-Teach a section of a session to peers using a range of equipment
- Link a range of Pilates and core training movements into a variety of combinations
An internal Certificate will be issued on satisfactory completion of the course. Successful completion of this course will earn 8 REPS points.
Professional. This is a second level course. You will need to have qualified in OCR level 2 or 3 Pilates instructor training before taking part in this course. You will need to be able to read and write short sentences, follow verbal instructions, observe and copy physical movements and use spatial awareness within a group.

You will be introduced to the material by the tutor, and will then work individually, in pairs and groups to develop and identify ways to develop your teaching. You will complete a variety of practical and written tasks, and be expected to prepare a lesson plan and teach a session.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.
