'Trusting Sarah' by Rosalind Beckles Waterman

Furthering your creative writing with Bridget Whelan
A confetti of words that were once clamped behind my eyes are now released on seeing her eyes full of sparkle
In the comfort of that comfortably dim room.
It’s as if many tied balloons are released. They start running, so glad to be free, to be released from fear.
A jumble of verbs, conjunctions and tenses
queue up to tell her stories and things that otherwise might not be heard – experiences, experiments, all benefit from her listening.
So many are jostling to be unpacked, unpicked and are prancing, dancing, waiting for the page.
Fear has no place here.
Here I find comfort, freedom and full rein with words that may seemingly
have little significance in my brain. They become a page, unravelled now, they recline with relief in lines and paragraphs, so magical for me, so fulfilling.
Here I find relief from my personal pains and striving in the word.
