The tuition is also very motivating. His own novels are a fluid read and impressive.

The course taught me to focus on the following points in fiction writing: Point of view, timing and to avoid the use of unnecessary words and cliché. Reading work out was essential in the class as was giving and receiving criticism. Reading material demonstrated what effective fiction writing entails. I would highly recommend this course for anyone serious about developing their fiction writing.

Tutor was experienced and passionate. I enjoyed hearing work of other students & commenting. But,the group was very large,& indvidual feedback was iregular. I'd have preferred more small group work,with more opportunities to get feedback.No work was assessed outside the class, & this makes improving one's work quite difficult. Frankly, I got very bored & have not completed the whole course. Shame - as the course I did last year was very good indeed, & that is why I decided to enrol on a different course for 2012.

The tuition is also very motivating. My only sadness is that other students are not working towards a major project, so I may have to switch classes, unless [the tutor] has another such class elsewhere.
His own novel 'The people who watched her pass by' was a fluid read and very impressive [although I have one issue with POV!]
