Rosemary Dixson has been attending language courses at City Lit for an incredible 20 years.

“I studied French and Spanish at university and wanted to keep it up. City Lit offered the kind of classes I wanted and at suitable times, and since I retired I’ve been able to take advantage of the daytime classes.

“I began with Scottish Gaelic – which was fascinating – and over the years have taken French, Spanish, German and more recently Russian.

“The tuition has been excellent and I have learnt so much. The classes have helped me greatly to improve the languages I speak, and to do so with more confidence. They have also helped me adjust to retirement and to a new routine. Starting a new language, Russian, three years ago, has been a very enjoyable challenge. I have also enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the classes - to say nothing of the new friends I have made.”
