I took the native Chinese tutor's class for this term, and would absolutely recommend her class. She is highly experienced, and encourages every student to practise speaking Mandarin with fun exercises. Authentic and very helpful materials are also provided to cover Chinese characters, which could have been a time-consuming challenge otherwise. I have got regular feedback through homework, which she brilliantly set and marked. Her class rescued me from struggling with this difficult language. Having started learning Mandarin with another CityLit tutor (English guy) last term, I was quite confused by his class which consisted of problematic questions, relatively lousy materials and discriminating atmosphere. I think the native Chinese tutor is the one who follows a standard for a language course, and her native pronunciation is more beneficial for students. Overall I would strongly recommend her class to anyone at elementary level.

I have just finished the second term of level 1 on Saturdays and the teacher is excellent, I would highly recommend his classes. He uses a variety of teaching methods with an emphasis on conversation practice but with pinyin and Chinese characters included in the lessons too. I can also say I really enjoy the classes, they are fun so its easy to keep coming and learning more -and amazing how much we have learnt in only two terms.

It's a fun upbeat class. We learned a lot and practised what we learned with entertaining exercises.
