As always Classics Day lived up to expectations - never fails. Particularly enjoyed Ian's paper on tragedy - very enlightening and thought provoking.

Greatly enjoyed lectures on Greek tragedy and Socrates. Both lecturers had thought about their audience. Lecture on Greeks in Egypt: interesting content; lecture needed more stucture.

Found the lectures to be very stimulating. The use of quotations on the screen helped one to focus. Two of the speakers spoke with passion which is always encouraging for someone new. Terry Ward

The lectures were good and informative. I learned
some new things. It was a good experience and a useful thing to do while I do an ancient Greek course. I would be happy to go a similar course again if I continue learning ancient Greek.

Excellent informative day with knowledgeable speakers. Only comment I would have is that i would have preferred lectures to be a bit shorter, as an hour was quite a long time to concentrate!

A thoroughly enjoyable day spent at the BM covering a diverse range of subject matter made accessible for those new to Classics such as myself, yet still stimulating for those with a better background knowledge. Jenny Bryant was truly inspirational - an entertaining and well informed speaker whose enthusiasm for Socrates was infectious! Considering the quality and content of the lectures, I felt the cost of the course represented incredible value for money - except once home, I was straight on to Amazon to stock up and am considerably poorer...!

Very interesting mix of topics. Highlights for me were the Oedipus and the Socrates - both brilliant! Gallery visit was rather brief and rather 'lightweight' and the group too big to hear the speaker.

My first time at a Classics Day and I will definitely come again.

All the content was terrific. It would be good to have the slides available afterwrds as it wasnt possible to make notes on everything that was siad. Also the talk at the end of the day should have had mikes as it wasn't possible to hear what the guide was saying in a big group.

Classics Day was as ever intellectually challenging and enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed Oedipus the King. Latin writing was perhaps too esoteric. I would like more Roman content.

Given the lectures tittles, I was not expecting such a stimulating experience. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Thank you.
