Course outline

What is the course about?

The course aims to enable students to communicate in a variety of everyday situations.

What topics will we cover?

Talk about your vacation, use prepositions of place, genitive case and describe your daily schedule using preposition from/until.

By the end of this course you should be able to:

- Talk about your vacation
- Say where will you go using genitive case
- Use prepositions of place
- Describe your daily schedule.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Students should have completed Czech 2 module 1 or have an equivalent knowledge (at least a year).

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Communicative approach with the emphasis on developing speaking and listening skills. Methods include pair practice, group and whole class work, role-play and audio-visual techniques.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Textbook New Czech Step By Step, Lida Hola (2004, 2005). All other material provided by the tutor.

Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

No.

What feedback will I get?

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.

How will I be able to give my views on the course?

Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
