Hearing that City Lit boasted an excellent tutor of Scottish Geli, I decided it was better to learn that well than Irish poorly(Intending to revert to Irish eventually), with hindsight a wise decision
My present tutor is adept at utilising technology, including , inter alia, computer access to Google, roll-chart, whiteboard, but her teaching is opredominantly oral, which, given that my best sensory modality is auditory rather than visual, suits me to a t. She also realises that her role is facilitator, not to spoon feed adults asa primary school teach er might justifiable do with young children.
Success depends also on the quality and responses of the students, not solely on the calibre of the tutor. Their interpersonal relations are good, no personal conflicts, and I have learned much from them too.
A vital part of the course is poetry, the lyric side of Gaelic culture. This I particularly enjoy, pace the greater difficulty to understand and translate than for prose.
