The tutor agrees with the students at the beginning of each term what grammar will be revised and what methods will be used. In 2010/11 we watched exerpts from films and TV programmes on YouTube, and reads passages from novels and newspaper articles. Written work is given as homework together with exercises to consolidate learning. Some students volunteered to give presentations on aspects of life in Italy. Everyone is encouraged to participate.

This is a very stimulating course in which students can influence the content to a certain extent. Both spoken and written Italian are covered and the homework always supports the content of the previous lesson. The course carries no passengers and students participate for about 50% of the time.
