It is the first time I have used City Lit for a language course and I am very satisfied with the training. It has provided me with the professional tutor that teaches very well, I have made friends and have fun too. The environment is very pleasent. The only thing I would say is that we have lots of homework and lots of photocopies instead of a book, sometimes I feel that maybe using a book would be a better idea. Overall experience is great and I would definitely recommend City Lit to my friends and family. In fact my wife will try to register for French lessons.

Polish is not an easy language to learn. The teacher is very skilled in the order in which she presents material in order to minimise difficulties for students. She uses her own materials, which are very good, and made available to students both in class and through Moodle, the City Lit VLE. The course is based on an active learning model in which all students participate and interact with one another. This method and the teacher herself create a supportive learning environment. I would still like to have a coursebook as a base, but recognise that there may not be a good one. I think it could be a good idea if the City Lit were to offer to students considering a beginners course an optional and generic day or half-day session(at a low price) on what is involved in learning a new language, particularly one very different from one's own. This might ease difficulties of understanding in the class and reduce drop-out within and between modules. This is a general observation, not specific to this course, which is excellent and recommended to those who want to learn Polish.
