This is a really enjoyable course. It includes grammar at a level we need, but the most enjoyable and useful parts of the course are the speaking and listening components. The tutor uses a wide variety of newspaper articles, TV and radio broadcasts and even songs to help improve our listening skills. We are given articles on current affairs to read and translate for homework, then we have follow-up discussions about these in small groups in class. If we wish, as part of our homework, we can write something on the topics discussed. This provides a cohesive and stimulating learning environment. I've just enrolled for the next module.

Each class included 1-3 short discussions in groups of four and listening to a recording. Different types of recordings, for example songs, news or internet clips and quick changes between class teaching and small group configurations made the course lively, despite the large class size. Generally, there was little time for questions as people did not feel too confident to speak in a large group.
A short session of Grammar repetitions was integrated in around 60% of the lessons. This helped bringing all the different students to a mutual level as far as that is possible.
