I had no guitar experience prior to the level one course held at the City Lit. Now, 2 years on, I know my way round a classical guitar, including how to play in different positions, e.g. fifth position; chords; scales; and am even confident in sightreading as well as performing an array of pieces in front of an invited audience.

The lesson is fun, relaxed and very interesting: I gained a knowledge of music terminology and throughout the course learned techniques, such as 'harmonics' and 'vibrato'.

This course is exactly what I read in the course outline but most importantly the lessons were structured, the teacher was patient and I looked forward to every lesson.

This is simply a great course if you wish to progress with your classical guitar. The tutor is very patient and this allows you to make progress at your pace. One begins to learn the subtle nuisances of reading music. I am inspired to carry on and enrol for the next set of lessons. Can't wait for the next year!

I joined this course last September with some experience of classical guitar playing and having had tuition elsewhere in a variety of venues. This is easily the best course I have attended. Each evening is well planned, the pace is well set and a diverse range of players are all catered for. I have learnt more about technique in this one year than at any other time. Well recommended.

This is a great course if you want to improve your playing in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The fact that it is a year long course encourages more commitment to development/improvement of your skills rather than short term goals and allows the teacher to monitor your progress over a longer period. It is always well attended which is evidence of its success. The payments can be spread out over each term so you don't have to make a huge initial outlay. Attending this class is always enjoyable after a long day's work and I would definitely recommend it!
