I loved Jazz Singers' 1 and foud it hugely informative and a great support while I develop as a jazz singer. There is nothing quite like it anywhere else, and I have been shocked to find the Jazz Singers 2 might be cancelled. Shame on you City Lit for even threatening to take away a unique support system like this. And put it more prominently on your site - you can't find it under Singing - why not???

Taking a workshop class requires an audition, although I was really nervous about the audition, it was really relaxed and I was pleased and strangely scared about taking my place in the Jazz workshop. However my fears were wiped away as I met a generous, kind and incredibly supportive collective of singers. Singing in class in a wonderful opportunity to share…it's nothing like X factor. I have a safe place to explore my interpretations of different jazz songs whilst extending my repertoire with the new songs we learn in class. 10 weeks in I can honestly say that my confidence as a singer …and yes can I now write that with conviction has permeated in many other aspects of my life. Inspirational jazz teachers and beautiful piano accompanists makes for a really strong class. Yes it’s hard work, but worth every penny. Roll on Mondays evenings…
