To produce a strong, supported singing voice, develop your ability to improvise and gain confidence in performance as a soloist or within a group. You will expand your repertoire, and develop skills learnt in level 1.
- Exploring the jazz repertoire

- Study of rhythm in order to keep tempo steady and phrasing interesting
- Studying arrangements and harmony within the songs.

You should be familiar with the jazz idiom, and will have completed 'Jazz singing 1' or have had six months or more of similar tuition or training. You will need to follow written and verbal instructions in English and engage in class discussions.
Warm-ups, breathing exercises, technical vocal exercises, learning and sharing songs. Singing together in class, and solo presentation. Listening, giving and receiving constructive criticism. You will learn how to maintain songs in performance; choosing the song; discussion; stage fright; mic technique; song arrangement, counting and song interpretation.
Please bring your own personal repertoire, music sheets and photocopies for musicians, and a folder. You may record the classes.

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. Students perform solos and are assessed informally week by week. There will be occasional opportunities to perform outside of class.
Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
